Hello, fellow moviegoers! There have been so many awesome trailers that have come out recently. So, I was trying to decide which one to tell you guys about, when it hit me. Why not review several of them? So without further ado, here are my brief thoughts on some of the most recent trailers that have been released that you should check out! ![]() Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 I never saw 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. I was never really interested in it, and it looked terrible. But I have to say, I’m excited about the sequel. It looks like it could be a lot of fun. Seeing Stephen Amell as Casey Jones was extremely exciting. He’s great in Arrow, and casting him as Casey Jones is perfect casting. I was never really into the TMNT as a kid, so I don’t know much about Bebop and Rocksteady. They do look really interesting in this movie. Also, seeing the Turtles in their classic Turtle Van was awesome! Having Megan Fox and Will Arnett return in this movie does make me nervous. As they were a majority of the reason for my not wanting to see the original. Megan gave a really cheesy line in the trailer and was only there to look pretty like she does in everything. Which really makes me upset, because from what I know the character of April O’Neil is a strong female character, and they’re completely destroying that with this portrayal. This trailer only added to those expectations two-fold. This trailer was awesome! The best part about it is the fact that Iron Man wasn’t portrayed as an antagonist. He is part of the opposing force to Cap in this film, but he’s not a villain. He has a very valid point. “If we can’t expect limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys”. This trailer was full of raw emotion. Audiences are going to be divided and taking sides between Cap and Iron Man, which is going to be a lot of fun. I especially liked the treatment of Black Panther. He wasn’t in the trailer a lot, just a few glimpse so we know that he’s there. If you didn't know Spiderman will also be appearing in this film A similar point can be made with him, as he was absent from the trailer entirely. I hope that the marketing is similar to Age of Ultron’s in the fact that we won’t see Spiderman for the first time until a few weeks prior to release. I don’t have very many gripes with the trailer. The opening is a little weird. Bucky answering Caps question with “Your mom’s name is Sara” is odd, a simple yes could have done. I had heard a few things here and there about the movie, but wow! I am now officially excited. The best part about the whole trailer is that it felt like a Tarzan movie, not some cheap rip-off. Also, the stellar cast surprised me. I didn’t know that Christoph Waltz was in this film, but now that I do I’m even more excited for it. I don’t have a lot to judge Alexander Skarsgård on because I haven’t seen him in a lot, but he looks great. Margot Robbie is great in everything she does (yes even in Focus), so there’s another reason to be excited. I also enjoyed how we never see Tarzan yell in the trailer. Save that for the actual movie. It will make it more powerful if the first time we see it is in the theater. The CGI was great for the most part, but there were a few scenes that looked a little iffy. But, chances are that will be fixed by the time the actual film hits theaters. So I’m not too worried about it. Also, I love Samuel L. Jackson, but he stood out in this trailer, and not in a good way. The entire trailer had a solid tone, and then BAM Samuel L. Jackson. It left me confused and wondering that the film will actually be like. Although, I did not enjoy this one as much as the one they released at Comic-Con. The difference between the two is; the Comic-Con trailer gave us enough story to intrigue us and make us want to see the movie; this new trailer gave us enough story to give us a full look as to what the movie is from beginning to end. There were plenty of good things about this trailer. The intro scene with Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne talking about the “Bat Vigilante” was fantastic. Ben Affleck looks awesome as Batman and his modulated voice sounds great. The fights between The Last Son of Krypton and The Dark Knight were awesome. It looks like we can expect the same level of awesomeness when it comes to fights that we received in Man of Steel. Contrary to what most people think, I enjoyed Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Or rather, Lex Luthor Jr I should say as he is playing the son of the now deceased classic Luthor character we know. It’s an interesting take on the character, and it’s one I’m definitely looking forward to. I enjoy the little twists DC is putting on their characters in this new DCEU (DC Expanded Universe). There is one thing about this trailer almost made me not like the entire thing. It gave way too much plot. The name of the film is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With Batman vs Superman first, and the Dawn of Justice second. It’s the Batman/Superman brawl that’s going to get people in the theaters, and the Dawn of Justice will make them come back. So let us experience the dawn in the theater. There was no need to reveal Doomsday or the introduction of Wonder Woman. Sure they teased the Amazonian Princess in the Comic-Con trailer, but it was only that. A tease. We didn’t know anything besides she was in the film. Now we know more than that, and we didn’t need to. If you cut off the last 45 seconds to a minute of this trailer, it would’ve been on par with the last one. But unfortunately, it went a little downhill at the end. Now, you can expect to see it somewhere on my most anticipated films of next year list when it comes out. This movie looks hilarious! Russel Crowe’s character is awesome. He’s just so serious and brooding the whole time, and he’s there to get business done. I can’t imagine anyone besides Crowe in that role. Ryan Gosling was great as well. This character was so unlike anything I’ve ever seen Gosling do, and he looks like he absolutely nails being this awkward guy thrown into a situation he doesn't want to be in. Put those two together, and their chemistry was great. I cannot wait to see this movie. The action scenes in the trailer were fantastic. I’m sure they’ll be even better when we actually see them in their entirety. I honestly can’t think of any gripes with this trailer. It looks great! I’m definitely going to be seeing this movie as soon as possible. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihb8vCrj2kc ![]() X-Men: Apocalypse This trailer definitely upped my excitement for this new X-Men film. I’m not a big X-Men fan. I find the movies enjoyable, and I loved Days of Future Past, but I never really got into either of them. But this trailer was awesome! Apocalypse looks like he is going to be one of the best Comic-Book movie villains we’ve seen yet. The way they teased so many individual things while keeping the focus on this mysterious mutant was very well done! Seeing James McAvoy as a bald Charles Xavier was something we’ve been waiting for two years to see, and he looks great. Also, seeing younger versions of the X-Men some of the most popular X-Men, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey, was handled very well. I wasn’t a big fan of the way they handled Mystique in the trailer. It seemed like she’s a major part in this movie. Which can be expected with an actress like Jennifer Lawrence playing her, but I feel like Mystique works best as a side character. I might be proven wrong when the movie comes out. Also, like I said earlier I enjoyed McAvoy’s bald look, but it was just tagged onto the end of the trailer almost like an afterthought. It was showing us all this apocalyptic stuff, and then it’s as if the editor realized he forgot about Bald McAvoy and said “Eh, we’ll just put him at the end. That’ll work right?” No, it didn’t work. It would’ve been better at a different point in the trailer or not in it at all. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COvnHv42T-A So what did you think of these trailers?
