Hello fellow moviegoers! 2014 has been a great year for film! I would make a 10 best films of 2014 list, but I feel like that list would not be any good because I didn't see as many movies as I had wanted to. There are still so many films from the year I want to see. So I might make a best list once they start coming out on DVD. One of my new year’s resolutions will be to see more movies and pick up the amount of posts for you guys. That being said, 2015 looks like it could be an even better year for film than this previous year was. So, here are my top ten most anticipated films of 2015! Before we get to the actual list though, I do have a few honorable mentions. Here they are... -The Jungle Book -Peanuts -Goosebumps -The Good Dinosaur -Tomorrowland -Spectre Now let's get on to the actual list. 10. Ant-Man Honestly, I am not a big fan of the Ant-Man character, but Marvel has reached the point that it is understandable to be excited for anything they release. The reason it is not higher on my list, is because it kind of feels forced into the MCU just because Marvel has an emotional connection to it. They don't want to let it go because it has been there since the beginning. It is kind of like the cousin you get a gift for just so they don't feel left out. I don't feel like this movie really needs to be in the MCU. It's just kind of there. Hopefully I am proven wrong and this movie is great! It is starting to look pretty good from all the information released so far. Fingers crossed! 9. Minions I am honestly pretty excited for this movie! The minions are definitely my favorite part of the Despicable Me franchise. I was kind of weary of them getting there own movie, but then that trailer knocked it out of the park, and now here it is on this list! It just looks like so much fun! I will probably be seeing this movie several times... (Check out my thoughts on the trailer here!) 8. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I feel like I am one of the few people in the world that actually enjoys seeing Armie Hammer on screen. He was brilliant in The Social Network, and actually, I didn't think he was that bad in The Lone Ranger. He was my top choice for Aquaman for a while, before they cast Jason Momoa! Also, add Henry Cavill into that mix! Man of Steel may be my favorite superhero movie ever, and Cavill was brilliant as Superman! Put these two together in a spy/espionage thriller film that comes out during the summer, and sign me up!! 7. In the Heart of the Sea In the Heart of the Sea is one of those movies that could either be really good, or really bad. Those are the types of movies that intrigue me. The ones that you are not really sure about. The trailer looks pretty good, and Chris Hemsworth is a great actor. I am excited to see the true story of the survival of Captain Ahab and his crew during and after the Moby Dick attack. This looks like a good summer movie. Except it comes out in March... 6. Kingsman: The Secret Service I knew next to nothing about this movie a month and a half ago, but then I ended up watching the trailer when it came out and I was presently surprised! This movie actually looks like a lot of fun! It definitely appears to know exactly what it is. It's not a drama, it's not a comedy. It just a good old-fashioned fun spy-thriller, which is awesome! I am so excited to see Colin Firth in this movie as he is a remarkable actor! I don't know who the kid playing the main character, but if he is good in this movie it looks like we could start seeing him more so we had better learn his name. Fast. 5. American Sniper I know, I know, technically this is a 2014 movie, as it was released in a few theatres in mid-December, but it doesn't get a wide-release until January so, I'm counting it! American Sniper looks like it could possibly be one of my favorite movies of the year! I absolutely love Bradley Cooper, and he looks like he gives the performance of his career in this film! I cannot wait to see how the dilemmas of his character are resolved. This movie looks amazing! I cannot wait to see it in a couple of weeks! 4. Jurassic World Honestly, I wasn't too excited for this film when they announced it. I was actually kind of dreading it, thinking it was just going to be another forced sequel just to make a quick buck. Then they cast Chris Pratt and my hopes were raised a little, but not drastically. When that trailer came out though, I was floored! This movie looks great! It definitely is taking the franchise in a bit of a new direction, which I like! I love the idea of them genetically modifying the dinosaurs to make people want to still come to the park, because that is what would actually happen! You know, if we actually had living dinosaurs. I will definitely be there opening weekend! 3. Inside Out Inside Out looks like it could possibly be one of Pixar's best films yet! This movie looks like it will be one of the best times of the year in the theatre for both kids and adults. I absolutely love the concept of "meeting the little voices inside of your head". It just seems like such and original film! How can you not be excited for this movie? 2. Avengers: Age of Ultron I feel like this movie is at least #2 on everybody's most anticipated lists. I was ecstatic when they announced that the villain of the second Avengers was going to be Ultron, not Thanos. Ultron is such a cool villain, and he looks so bad-ass in the trailer for this movie. I can only imagine how well this movie will do at the box office, considering how well the first one did, and that it was awesome. I work at a theatre and I am scared to work in May because of the box-office monster this movie will be. 1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens How can this movie not be my #1 pick? I am a ginormous Star Wars fan and I remember how excited I was that Disney bought Lucasfilm and were going to make new movies! When they announced the cast back in May that just made my hype for this movie go up another four levels! Not only is it a new Star Wars film, but it has the original cast, Andy Serkis (one of my favorite actors in Hollywood right now), a great sci-fi director in J.J. Abrams, many more great actors, and NO Jar Jar Binks!! This movie might be my most anticipated film of the decade. That is how excited for it I am! (Check out my trailer review here!) Well it certainly looks like 2015 will be a great year for film! What movies are you looking forward to over the next twelve months? Are you as excited for Star Wars as I am?
