Hello fellow moviegoers!
Well today was definitely a big day for all of us movie geeks out there. Not only did we get the official title for the new Star Wars movie, but we also got this awesome trailer for the last movie in the Middle Earth saga. It starts off with Bilbo and Bard telling Thorin basically "You got the mountain, now don't be a jerk". That is a rough translation but you get the point. It then proceeds to show us clips of Thranduil, and Orc Armies, with Gandalf and Legolas speaking. After that it is basically just scenes teasing a that a war is coming. Overall this trailer was fantastic. It did a great job getting people excited for the last movie in the Hobbit trilogy. It seems that the role of main character in these movies has now officially passed to Thorin while Bilbo is still the title character. I do have a couple minor problems with the trailer though. For example, what is with the scene making it look like Gandalf died? We have all scene the Lord of the Rings, and Gandalf is in those so obviously he survives. So what then is the point of having it look like he died? It just doesn't really make sense to me. One thing that I didn't notice until after the trailer is the complete lack of Smaug. I have read the book and understand why he is not there, but you have to have some respect for those that have not. One thing that actually gave me goosebumps in the trailer though, was the scene of Aiden Turner's Kili yelling at Thorin saying he would not stand by while others fight. It really shows how much that character has changed since the begin of the journey. As expected there are a lot of fight scenes and the trailer ends with Bilbo putting the ring on. I loved this trailer and cannot wait for this movie to come out. While on the subject of the Hobbit, I wanted to talk about all of the people still complaining that they turned this into a trilogy! Really? It's been three years. Get over it. Plus, most of you are probably Middle Earth fans like myself anyway, so just be happy that you get more time in that world now. Because, I am sorry to be the one to tell you, but the Silmarillion isn't going to happen. Sorry, but it's the truth. What did you think of the new Hobbit trailer? Are going to be seeing this movie in theatres, waiting for DVD, or just passing in general? Let me know by commenting on this post! Thanks for stopping by!
