Singing Bears, Turkish Airlines, and Matt Damon! The Biggest Super Bowl Trailers You Need to See!2/10/2016 Hello, fellow moviegoers! In case you were living under a rock this past weekend, chances are you heard a thing or two about the Super Bowl. These past five years or so, the demographic for the Super Bowl has expanded quite a bit. It used to be just an event for fans of sports, but recently it’s become an event for movie fans. There are so many big movies that have new trailers during the Super Bowl that one night a year, uber-nerds actually watch a Football game. So was it worth it this year? Here are my reactions to the best Movie trailers that premiered during the Super Bowl! Jason Bourne This trailer for the fifth film in the Bourne franchise is exactly what you want it to be. It’s a mysterious yet badass trailer that really gets you excited for the film. I like the approach that they look to be taking with this film. Just like the trailer said, we all know Jason Bourne, and by the looks of it so does everyone else in this film. That’s why they’re all so afraid when they see that he’s back. The title, on the other hand, I’m not so ecstatic about. On its own, it’s not a bad title. But considering there is a theme amongst the titles of all of the rest of the Bourne films (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Ultimatum, etc.), it doesn’t really stand out. It seems kind of lazy if you ask me, but hey, it’s only a title. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gBnmKOixDM Batman v. Superman What I liked most about these new ads for Batman v. Superman was that they were different. These ads are made as if they are targeted at people within the DC Universe. It was a really nice move by the marketing team for Batman v. Superman. The ads succeeded at advertising the film well, yet being subtle at the same time. There were little shots here and there throughout Gotham City and Metropolis that teased the larger DC Universe. For example, you can see the ACE Chemicals logo on the Gotham skyline (of course teasing the origin of The Joker). Watch them here: Gotham: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS7JBHxdxko Metropolis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXek6jW3eWI X-Men: Apocalypse I feel like this teaser was a great way to introduce X-Men: Apocalypse to those that didn’t know it was coming. It shows all of the new and old characters that will be playing major roles in this film, as well as giving a tease at the big baddy Apocalypse. To the people that saw the first trailer and already knew about this film, this was decent. It wasn’t nearly as good as the first trailer, granted this is only a 30 second TV spot. I do have to admit, the shot of Psylocke cutting a car in half was pretty great. I feel as if they are trying to turn the character of Mystique into Katniss Everdeen, which I really hope they aren’t because that would really detract from this film. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnu06cIUpMs Captain America: Civil War I enjoyed this thirty-second teaser for Captain America: Civil War almost as much as the full trailer they released a little while back. This teaser was awesome! The chanting of “United We Stand” slowly turning into “Divided We Fall” was a great way to really portray the division between opposing sides in this film, and its fan base. Also, this trailer does a great job introducing this film to those that didn’t know about it. It clearly shows which hero is on which side, and shows the point that divides them. This was a fantastic TV Spot to air during the Super Bowl, and I think Marvel has something really special on their hands. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L7iH3foZU0 The Jungle Book Almost all of the trailers during the Super Bowl this year were fantastic, so it really means something when I tell you that this new trailer for The Jungle Book was my favorite. In fact, this trailer might be one of my favorite trailers of the past year or so. It was that good! This trailer was a great follow-up to the original Jungle Book trailer they released. That first trailer was mysterious and hinted at iconic things from this story. This trailer really gets into the story and gives you good looks at all of the animals and celebrity voices in the film. Almost all of the voice-casting in this film is perfect, and they all fit their roles so well (especially Christopher Walken as King Louie). The music in the trailer brought it to a whole new level. The remix of “The Bare Necessities” was a great idea, and it fit so well. Hearing Bill Murray’s Baloo sing a few bars of the song made it even better! Now, I’m just hoping to hear Christopher Walken sing “I Wanna Be Like You”! Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_EN03fJIyY So what did you think of all of these teasers? Did they get you excited for these big summer films? Let me know by commenting on this post! Also, if you enjoyed this post, share it on Facebook and Twitter. It really helps!
