Jurassic World Movie Review

Hello fellow moviegoers!

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Vincent D'Onofrio. It is the fourth film in the massively successful Jurassic Park franchise and has a lot riding on its shoulders. The general plot of the movie centers around the fact that audiences are getting bored of the same-old dinosaurs. To counteract this, they decide to genetically create a new dinosaur that is bigger and smarter than anything in the park. However the monster that they create is a little too big and smart for them to handle. The expectations for this film are incredibly high, but does it live up to them? Here's what I think...

Jurassic World definitely is another great addition to the slew of awesome movies coming out in 2015. This movie is definitely the sequel to Jurassic Park that audiences have been wanting since 1993. Before you ask, no, you do not need to see The Lost World: Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park III in order to understand this one. But you should probably see the first one if you haven't, as the events of that film are mentioned heavily several times.
One of the biggest worries people had with this film is the whole Chris Pratt training the raptors thing. I am glad to say, that the way that they went about presenting this situation makes it believable, for the most part. Rest assured, you can sleep sound knowing that we do get glimpses of those terrifying raptors from the first one.
The characters in this movie are overall pretty decent. They aren't going to be what you talk about leaving this movie, except for maybe Chris Pratt. His character in this movie isn't what a lot of people were afraid it was going to be. He isn't just Star-Lord again. It is nice to see him do a different sort of role than he has been doing recently. After seeing him in this, I am actually excited by those rumors of him being Indiana Jones. The two characters that I didn't really like were the two kids. It felt like they were kind of shoehorned into the film for a couple of cool action sequences. When the film cuts over to them, it definitely slows down a little bit, because it is giving them way too much backstory. It should have just focused on the main storyline of hunting the Indominus Rex.
If you decide to see this movie, don't go into it expecting a great movie with relatable characters, a plot that will suck you into the movie, and action sequences that will make you laugh out of enjoyment. Because  it isn't that. This is an incredibly fun action movie. If you can go into the movie not worrying too much about plot and characterization, then you will definitely enjoy this movie.
8/10

So what did you think of Jurassic World? I won't ask how much you enjoyed it compared to the first one, because the first one is so great. But, how do you think it compares to the sequels? Do you think this is the best sequel to Jurassic Park that we've gotten yet? I certainly think so. Let me know by commenting on this post!
