Hello fellow moviegoers!
Fury is a movie written and directed by David Ayer, starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, and Shia Labouf. Brad Pitt plays a character named War Daddy who has been the leader of a tank named Fury for the United States for quite some time now. Norman (Lerman) is a typist who is drafted into the war and given the duty of helping War Daddy and his crew in their fight against the Nazis of Germany. This story is really about Norman and how the war changes him, and his views on life. I found this movie to be an extremely heavy movie, which was expected, but not to the extent that it was. The realism in this movie is so intense that you can't help but feel the fear and the tension, that these characters are going through in the major action scenes. The relationship between Norman and the other members of Fury's crew is definitely an interesting one. At first they were real jerks to him and forced him to do some serious things he didn't want to do. But as the movie progressed you could see their relationships growing into more of a brotherhood. This movie is not without fault though. A couple of times throughout the movie, there were scenes that felt a little too long and could be trimmed up a little bit. The gunfire in the movie looked more like something out of Star Wars at times. While they did explain why it was so, it took me out of the movie while watching it and had me focusing on that rather than what was actually going on in the scene. The acting in this movie is tremendous though. Logan Lerman does a fantastic job in this movie. He did a great job as the newbie to the team, and really portrayed the evolution as this character well, I wouldn't be surprised if he got and Oscar nomination for it. I didn't even see Brad Pitt in this movie, I saw War Daddy, that was how magnificent he was. It is always so refreshing to see an actor really commit to a role like he did in this movie. Shia Labouf also did an amazing job in this movie. If I was surprised by anybody's performance leaving the theatre it was definitely his. Fury is a fantastically well put together movie with a few minor problems here and there that you definitely should check out before it leaves your local theatre! 7.5/10 Thanks for stopping by! |
